You can tell a lot about a bar by what it does in a hotel shower. The Seafarer is sandalwood, warm and a little dry, with something like salt air behind it, and a light grit from jojoba seed powder and oat kernel meal that wakes the skin without sanding it. It travels as well as you do.

Why the pH is the point. Sun, salt, wind and hard water spend all day pulling at your skin. Ordinary soap arrives afterwards at pH 9–10 and gives the same surface another shove. This bar is built to 4.5–5.5, the range your skin already keeps for itself, so the shower is the one part of the day that isn’t asking anything of it.

In the bar. Shea butter, avocado and jojoba oils, kaolin clay and sea buckthorn extract on a mild cleansing base that lathers creamy rather than foamy and rinses without the film. All-natural, and made in North America with Hunter Amenities.

Does it still get you clean? Yes. Surfactants clean, and they don’t need to be alkaline to do it. What goes missing is the tight feeling afterwards, and that was never the clean part.
