Most bar soap comes out of the kettle at pH 9–10. Your skin runs at about 4.5–5.5. One wash with the ordinary stuff pushes your skin roughly three points the wrong way, and it takes most of a working day to come back. Shower again tomorrow and it never quite does. That is the tax: small, daily, and nobody told you that you were paying it. The Brick is built to your skin’s own pH, so you get clean and keep the rest.

The questions men ask before the first bar.
Does a pH balanced bar clean as well as regular soap?
Yes. Cleansing is surfactants doing their job. Ours do it at your skin's pH instead of against it. What you lose is the tight feeling afterwards, and that feeling was never the cleaning.
Why does the lather feel different?
There's plenty of it. The difference is character, not volume: creamier and less big-bubbly than traditional soap, and it rinses clean. With no soap-and-hard-water reaction there's no mineral film left behind, on you or on the shower door.
Is The Brick actually soap?
It's a bar you wash with, and we call it a bar of soap the way everyone does. Chemically, traditional soap is made by saponifying fats, which fixes it at pH 9–10. The Brick is formulated differently, with mild cleansing agents, because that's the only way a bar lands at 4.5–5.5. We gave up the word 'soap' on the label to get the pH.
Does the pH help with body odour?
Sweat is odourless when it leaves you. Odour is what skin bacteria make from it. Ordinary soap scrubs them off and then leaves your skin a friendlier place for the bacteria behind odour; a bar at your skin's own pH doesn't. That's all we claim, and it's how skin works.
What is your return policy?
Thirty days from delivery, for a full refund of what you paid. Use it a few times. If it's not yours, send it back. Damaged, defective or wrong items are refunded or replaced regardless of use.
